Welcome to my website. It is my hope that it will be a way to communicate with you throughout the next two years. I hope it will also be a way for you to communicate to me your opinions on the important issues facing the State of Indiana.

Despite falling one seat short of retaining a Republican majority in the Indiana House, House Republicans have much to be thankful for. With the loss of just 3 Republican seats and a slim 51-49 majority for the Democrats in the House, Indiana is once again the closest chamber in the nation. With events overseas and in Congress, including the loss of all three contested Republican congressional seats in Indiana, it is truly appropriate to focus on our effort as a success rather than a loss.

I am proud of the progress that we have made in the past two legislative sessions in the areas of balancing the budget, advancing economic development, property tax reform and relief, protecting our children, and many other important issues. While we concentrate on governing, our team has already begun planning its "Victory in '08" campaign. Led by Executive Director Mike Gentry, this effort is being designed to surpass all our prior efforts in legislative campaigns in Indiana. With the past success we have experienced since 2002, I am confident that the majority is only an election away.
